Our six to eight weeks specially designs falls prevention programme at home aims to identify and reduce risk of falls with a key aim of focusing on early intervention to restore independence, and preventing falls, promoting bone health and reducing accidents.
Our falls prevention and home safety programme includes
Assessment of the person (including intrinsic and behavioural risk factors such as medications, vision, foot care, diet, mobility skills, motivation etc)
Home safety assessment of the environment (including extrinsic risk factors such as loose rugs, lighting, stairs, furniture etc) and recommendations for equipment and adaptations as indicated.
One to one with our therapist, an individualised, illustrated exercise programme in the comfort of your home with an aim to increase strength, balance and flexibility.
Falls safety education and demonstration of strategies in the event of a fall.
Education and advice for family and carers.
